Pillar 3a pension plan

Compare the best pillar 3a offers

You will find in this comparative table about forty offers proposed by banks and insurance companies for a competitive pillar 3a. The pillar 3a, or tied pension provision, complements the other two pillars, the AHV/IV and the BVG, and can only be taken out by employees and self-employed persons affiliated to the AHV. In addition to supplementing the amount of your pension, the linked pillar 3a can be withdrawn beforehand in order to finance a property, to become self-employed or when leaving Switzerland permanently. These savings allow you to benefit from numerous tax advantages by deducting the contributions from your taxed income. There are differences in terms of taxation, contract duration, beneficiary clauses and the choice of investment of the funds. To obtain better returns and save on your taxes, we advise you to compare the different providers.

What is a 3rd pillar ?

Quite often, the 1st (AHV) and 2nd pillar (BVG) are not enough to guarantee a sufficient amount for retirement. This is why private pension provision (3rd pillar) was introduced as individual savings. Unlike a conventional bank account, money from the third pillar can only be withdrawn under certain conditions. In addition, there is a cap on the amount that can be deposited annually (CHF 6'826 for employees and CHF 34'128 for self-employed people, as of 2020). In addition to being tax-deductible, the third pillar supplements the retirement amount and allows you to finance a property purchase.
